The first Wittenberg Persian Conference (2/13-2/15/2026) organized by LCMS Eurasia, brought together Persian Christian refugees from six German congregations to strengthen their faith through catechesis, enable fellowship, allow them to worship in Farsi, and provide encouragement in these difficult days in their home country, Iran. With three Persian men present who are considering the pastoral ministry, this gathering also laid the foundation for future Persian church plants.
The Eurasia Center for Spreading the Gospel (Old Latin School) in Wittenberg was the perfect location for SELK Pastors Andreas Otto, Dr. Michael Wenz, missionaries Rev. Pasi Palmu from Finland and Rev. Tiews (LCMS) to teach on key treasures of Biblical teaching as explained in Lutheran theology. We also visited the historic sites of Lutheran church history and prayed for the future of Iran. It was a conference for mind and heart, and the Holy Spirit worked mightily in all the delegates.
