Grace and peace from our Lord Jesus Christ! The last four weeks have been filled to the brim with amazing events that mightily show the work of God even in our troubled times.
We held our first Germany FORO mission summit in Hamburg, Berlin, and Wittenberg, at which pastors and lay people from the South-Wisconsin District and Michigan District, local church and partners, and a number of missionaries came together to experience and witness the mission work going on in Germany. Praise God, everybody left encouraged and uplifted. Mark your calendars for the next Germany FORO, which will take place from September 23-29, 2026.
Just last week, an Israeli convert from Judaism (baptized back in 2015), Sahar Sadlovsky, completed his STM (Master of Sacred Ministry) studies with the support of LCMS Eurasia and was ordained by the Swedish Mission Province in Gothenburg, Sweden. Guided by the Holy Spirit, Rev. Sahar will minister to his growing flock and reach out to new people at our LCMS church plant in Tel Aviv. Please keep him and his young family in your prayers!
As you may have heard, God continues to reveal Himself to Persians in their dreams and draws them to His grace, as you can see from my report about the Persian congregation at Trinity Lutheran Church in Berlin-Steglitz. These dear people longed to be baptized and receive the forgiveness accomplished once for all by Christ’s sacrifice–and the Lord blessed and keeps blessing them with those gifts in that large congregation (about 1500 members, of whom 1400 are Persian). For many, regular worship with the Word and Sacraments remains a precious gift and not a given. Let us encourage one another to remain firmly rooted in the true Vine through the faithful hearing and partaking of God’s gifts!
And finally, greetings from Lutherstadt Wittenberg, where our Eurasia missionary team gathered this week for a church planting conference. It was especially appropriate to meet in the City of the Reformation, where Martin Luther was so passionate about ensuring that people receive the pure, life‑giving water of the Gospel and Christ’s gifts of Word and Sacrament–over and over.
May the Lord continue to bless you and keep you–and thank you again for your continued love, prayers, and support!
