Lula and I are currently returning to Hamburg from Prague, Czechia, where we had exciting work to do at the Corpus Christi conference—a gathering of about 250 young Lutherans in their 20s and 30s. Corpus Christi is a wonderful annual event for continuing education, Lutheran worship, and wholesome fellowship. I taught a three-day class on spiritual warfare, while Lula interviewed many of the attendees.
In other news: I am in touch with the lady in Afghanistan every day (see my story from this month) and send her a short message on a chapter of the New Testament that I have asked her to read every day. We are currently working through the Gospel of Matthew. Meanwhile, back in Hamburg, we have put together an Afghan Outreach Task Force, consisting of four Persians and my Finnish colleague Rev. Pasi Palmu. Next month we will create a self-study tutorial on the basics of Christianity for the Afghan lady because—at least so far—she is reluctant to meet with us in video chats. I don’t blame her, considering the enormous risk she is taking. Please continue to pray that the little seeds of the Gospel take root in her and that she would remain undetected.
Thank you all for keeping the Tiews going out here on the mission field, and praise God for the many ways in which He is blessing His work that we are privileged to do!
