And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful” (Colossians 3:15). This Thanksgiving weekend, indeed, this whole month, Lula and I give great thanks to our Lord for calling us to serve in Eurasia—but also to you, dear friends, for supporting us not only with your prayers but also with your most generous gifts. Your help allows us to reach out to many people with the joyful news of Jesus Christ—through baptizing and teaching. I am writing this from Brasov, Romania, where I am meeting with some of Riga Luther Academy’s faculty (see picture) to discuss the pastoral and diaconal formation of our students from some fifteen different countries hailing from parts of Africa, across western and eastern Europe, to Turkey, Pakistan, Nepal, and all the way to Siberia. It is a privilege to teach at a first-rate seminary that provides theological education to future planters of Confessional Lutheran churches in a variety of countries—called in one body. I am also making last-minute preparations for the Baptism of three Iranian adults in Hamburg on December 3. Lula and I could not think of a better vocation than to serve the Lord in Eurasia on your behalf. We are indeed so thankful!
The Lord’s blessings to you this Thanksgiving weekend!
